Aim of the training: The language course strengthens the Hungarian language communication of foreigners interested in the Hungarian language and culture, and makes them more confident in solving problems in everyday life.

The language course focuses on the vocabulary and basic grammar needed for this purpose. By the end of the course, participants should be able to communicate fluently in situations requiring direct and indirect exchanges of information and to understand texts written at a higher linguistic level.
Day 1
Grammar: conjugation in plural, foods and drinks in object case;
Vocabulary: verbs (telefonál, táncol, pihen, eszik, iszik), conjugation of verbs ”eszik” és ”iszik”, foods, drinks, times of day (reggel, délelőtt, este);
Situations, pragmatics: invitation (Nem iszunk egy kávét?), questions, accepting and politely declining an offer;
Day 2
Grammar: the "-val, -vel" suffix; the verb "van" and its negative form, use of auxiliary "nincs"; and "kell";
Vocabulary: revision;
Situations, pragmatics: ordering in a café
Day 3
Grammar: use of adverbial suffixes "-on, -en, -ön"; ”-ban, -ben, -n, -on, -en, -ön”, adverbial suffixes in the name of towns;
Vocabulary: places (university, market), time adverbials (hétfőn, kedden);
Situations, pragmatics: weekly programmes, towns in Hungary
Day 4
Grammar: verbs with "-s, -sz, -z" ending; object suffixes (-t, -ot, -et, -öt, -at);
Vocabulary: verbs (főz, mos, vesz, néz); quantities (egy darab, egy üveg);
Situations, pragmatics: Mit kell vásárolni? Miből mennyit veszünk?
Day 5
Grammar: object case of adjectives and numbers;
Vocabulary: names of foods and nutritions;
Situations, pragmatics: purchasing at the market
Day 6
Grammar: the present plural form of verbs;
Vocabulary: verbs and places with ”-nál, -nél” suffixes;
Situations, pragmatics: invitation by phone
Day 7
Grammar: -ba, -be, -ra, -re, -ban, -ben, -nál. -nél;
Vocabulary: adverbials of place and time;
Situations, pragmatics: invitation and daily programme
Day 8
Grammar: -ból, -ből, -tól, -től, -nál, -nél, -hoz, -hez, -höz;
Vocabulary: pronouns, e.g.: tőlem, nálam, hozzám;
Situations, pragmatics: Honnan hová megy?
Day 9
Grammar: verbs with-ik suffix;
Vocabulary: expressions of the daily routine;
Situations, pragmatics: expression of opinion, dialogue about the daily routine
Day 10
Grammar: -kor, val, -vel;
Vocabulary: expression of time, means of transport, programmes;
Situations, pragmatics: buying a train ticket, talking about a journey
Closure of the course.
The 4 daily language lessons are complemented by optional country and cultural programmes in the afternoons:
- a walk in the centre of Miskolc;
- Miskolc sightseeing tour, including a visit to the castle of Diósgyőr;
- excursion to Lillafüred;
- a tour in the Bükk Mountains;
- watching short films;
- attending a theatre performance.
